  1. Day 1

    Cusco — Km 82 — Llactapata — Huayllabamba

    Early departure from Cusco to Km 82, the official starting point of the Inca Trail. Begin your journey along the Urubamba River valley, passing rural communities and agricultural landscapes.

    • Visit Llactapata archaeological site
    • Gradual hike to Huayllabamba campsite

    A gentle introduction to the trail, ideal for acclimatization. 📍 12 km · ⏱ 5–6 h · 🏕 Camp altitude: 3,000 m

  2. Day 2

    Huayllabamba — Pacaymayo (Warmiwañusca Pass)

    The most challenging day of the trek. Ascend to the highest point of the trail:

    • Warmiwañusca Pass (Dead Woman's Pass) – 4,200 m
    • Descend into the Pacaymayo Valley, where the second campsite is located

    A demanding but incredibly rewarding day with panoramic Andean views. 📍 11 km · ⏱ 6–7 h

  3. Day 3

    Pacaymayo — Runkurakay — Sayacmarca — Wiñay Wayna

    One of the most culturally rich days of the journey.

    • Explore Runkurakay archaeological complex

    • Hike through lush cloud forest

    Arrive at Wiñay Wayna, one of the most spectacular Inca sites on the trail. A day filled with history, nature, and breathtaking scenery. 📍 16 km · ⏱ 7–8 h

  4. Day 4

    Wiñay Wayna — Sun Gate — Machu Picchu — Cusco

    Early morning hike to reach the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) at sunrise. From here, enjoy your first panoramic view of Machu Picchu.
